Sweden, North-east Scania, Gärds district
54 x 97 cm
A finely woven example of this design type, which is typical of the area (see SW 28 and SW 2). The design is largely similar in construction on the different examples – which are often initialled and dated – but differs in the details. This carriage cushion cover includes small women and birds, and a wide zigzag border followed by a thinner ‘S’ and reverse ‘S’ border.
