Iran
15th century
wood, carved; with traces of paint
38 x 19cm
The two finials are decorated with deeply carved intertwining arabesques and retain traces of paint. They could well have decorated a cenotaph, or possibly the door of a minbar (pulpit) or other piece of mosque furniture.
